Special Educational Needs

This is a term that refers to children who have particular needs and may need supplementary teaching.  These children may be very able or may be experiencing learning difficulties.  The school has a very clear procedure to identify children with particular needs and a member of staff is trained as the special needs co-ordinator.  This member of staff advises colleagues on how to set up individualised learning programmes for specific children.  The school also has access to a range of outside support agencies that help to meet the needs of special needs children.
